GENE strengthens the research base of Global Education policy by publishing its own policy research, by supporting the development of ANGEL, and through the EERA/GENE Fund.

Research is based on issues of Global Education (GE) policy and provision, identified as important by national policymakers. GENE works to ensure that GE policymakers have access to the best and latest comparative research base for policymaking. There is a focus on quality throughout.

GENE Secretariat has started developing a Global Education (GE) database that includes national GE Profiles for all countries participating in GENE. These profiles present a short overview of Global Education per country, developed based on existing GENE information previously approved or already available publicly. They have been designed to meet policymakers needs.

GENE, together with the European Educational Research Association (EERA), promotes a Funding Scheme that supports new policy research in Global Education. Focused on themes identified by GENE Ministries and Agencies as crucial to the increase and improvement of GE, the scheme will be led by EERA, which involves circa 30,000 educational researchers in Europe.
